Programs for Teachers: PLU Courses

The Michael C. Carlos Museum is accredited through the Georgia State Department of Education to offer staff development courses for teachers.

Completion of the Prior Approval form (PDF-format) is required.

Summer Teacher Course
Lost Kingdoms of the Nile: Ancient Nubia
9 am - 3 pm

With the exhibition Lost Kingdoms of the Nile: Nubian Treasures form the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston as the centerpiece of the course, teachers will learn the history and significance of this ancient civilization. Guest lecturers include Dr. Peter Lacovara, Curator of Egyptian and Nubian art at the Carlos, Charles Bonnet, Professor Emeritus at the University of Geneva and Director of Archaeology at Kerma; and Joyce L. Haynes from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Free: $75 members, $100 for non–members
