Craftsmen

Weaving, stoneworking, woodworking, pottery production, and metalworking are several examples of crafts that people practiced in the ancient Near East. This drawing shows a weaver working at a loom.

Loom Weights

Stones with holes drilled or cut into them, as you see here, have been found all over the Near East. Weavers used them to weigh down the vertical threads of the cloth woven on looms, as you can see in the drawing above.
